In August I get a call from a young woman in Athens. Anastasia comes from Karia, a small town in the mountains, and asks me to take care of capturing and neutering three stray bitches in her home village. When I ask her how to pay for this, she says that she will pay the vet bill for all three dogs if I take care of the rest. I am very pleased that someone shows so much commitment and I am happy to contribute to prevent the next puppy misery. "The castrations are the first in the animal protection," says Natasha. She is right about that.
Little Dylan is the stray kitten who scurried into the barbershop where Sofia happened to be getting a haircut. In a terrible state, Dylan was clearly in need of some TLC. After routine blood tests, Dylan tests positive for Feline HIV, and finds himself once again looking for a new home that can care for him.
After 6 years of misery, Theo the pug gets a new lease on life when we are contacted by Katja Hupperz, who offers to take Theo in and provide him the much needed medical attention he needs.
Two tiny kittens are found abandoned, emaciated and riddled with parasites. We take them in for treatment and some much needed love and affection. Once they are back to good health, we will be looking for someone to sponsor them or adopt them.
